Know
more about Antakahrana
A lot of people believe
mathematics isn’t just about shapes and numbers. They have found a deeper
purpose to it, and it is definitely not banking or accounting. They believe
that there are more to mathematics and geometry than what lies on the surface.
This idea is based on what is known as sacred geometry.
People who believe the
teachings of this branch of knowledge believe that the creator used the idea of
geometry while creating the universe. Astrologers say that star constellations follow
geometric patterns, astronauts tell us the planets are spherical, some plants
like the flower of life, the snail shell in a spiral pattern,… they all attest
that geometry holds deep spiritual meaning.
This belief has found
its way into religion like Islam, Judaism, Christianity, and Hinduism, just to
mention a few. It was started by Plato, the famous Greek philosopher. He
believed that mathematics, and yes, geometry holds the key to accessing some
deep spiritual dimension. Archimedes, a mathematician also from Greece made the
idea more popular. Today it has found its way into arts, music, architecture,
and religion. A popular building based on geometric shape is the Pentagon, the
American military headquarters. Lovers of literature would relate to the Da
Vinci Code.
A well-known practice
based on this belief is Antahkarana. This branch deals with the importance of
the human mind. In fact, it literally means internal organ. This practice is
featured in Yoga, Hindu philosophy and Tibet literature. It classifies the
human mind into four levels of operations: Buddhi, Chitta, Manas, and Ahamakra meaning: The idea revolves around a
geometric shape, also known as Antahkarana. It is believed that the shape
possesses the ability to heal, cause spiritual growth and influencing the human
mind by creating spiritual awareness.
I am lonely should not
be used by the followers of this teaching as they are encouraged to transform
whatever negative feeling they have to the positive through meditation.
