How to make
a good looking lapel pins
Enamel pins or lapel pins is considered as
an ornamental piece of equipment which is worn on a clothing or any kind of
fabric. People also wear it to represent an organization or a community, but it
has become a trend to wear these pins as it looks so cool. Here are few steps
to make custom pin badges.
The basics
In order to design a pin, one should have
some basic knowledge about artworks. The person will sketch the design roughly
on a paper. Then it should be digitalized. Scanning the rough paper work also
hold fine, although designing specifically on designer software is recommended
for greater quality. Once it is done, you should print the design on a metal
piece or on a required material.
Simplifying the pin
The size of the pin should be around 1-2 inches.
Pins look styling are trendy when they are small enough, thus using fewer lines
and details will make the pin look cleaner. There should be enough space
between the drawn lines for the enamel to get fitted inside the design.
Coloring the pin
Shading within a color might look well on
paper but pins don’t work that way. In fact it consumes a lot of time while
manufacturing and increases the cost of pin production. Instead use bold colors
and thick lines. By using bold colors, the pins will attract eyes of people and
can also be visible for long range. This compensates for the small size of the
pins. After completing the pin design send it to the factory and get a demo
piece to check for any improperness.
Time for the process
While making the pin for an occasion, do
consider the time for delivery and quality checking. It usually takes 4 weeks
for the total process.
